HDPP won 'Best Novelty Soapbox' in Hinckley's annual Soapbox Derby organised by Hinckley Bid. The Soapbox designed by HDPP member's Mike Phillpott and John Denny was a fun version of The Hansom Cab which was designed and built in Hinckley By Joseph Hansom.
The Cab was then driven down Castle Street by Mayor Ozzy O'Shea.
HDPP wins Local Award
HDPP was delighted to be awarded 'Best New Project' under Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council's 'Making a Difference awards'
Held at the Concordia Theatre Hinckley groups from all over the district came together to be recognised for their work in the area and making a difference.
Paul & Sue Gardner accepted the award on behalf of the group. The council recognised the work of HDPP in preserving and promoting the area's rich history. Also the fundraising for local good causes and taking history out to schools,residential homes and local groups.
Collecting the award from the Mayor Ozzy O'Shea, group founder Paul Gardner said he was thrilled and delighted to accept the award for all members of the group.
